The lovers of classical music should visit the new and impressive Philharmonics building, hosting regular concerts as well as the yearly Festiwal of Organ and Chamber Music The Colours of Poland. The Music Society of Łódź organizes concerts of organ music The Music in the Old Monastery. Jazz fans cannot miss the yearly Grand Prix Jazz Music Lovers, organized by the Melomani (The Music Lovers)Jazz Association, where Jazz Oscar statues are granted. The Festival of Film Music is organized by the Museum of Cinematography, and recalls the abundant film traditions of Łódź, while promoting the Polish composers of film music at the same time. Its every edition is a feast for the lovers of this type of music. The International Festival and Competition of Musical Personalities is also held in Łódź, organized by the Alexander Tansman Culture Promotion Association, The Music Academy in Łódź, City Hall of Łódź, under the patronage of the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Poland and the President of the City of Łódź. The idea of the competition is to point out and promote the most interesting artistic personalities and composers irrespective of their style.
